Has Asbestos Something to Do with Peritoneal Mesothelioma?

Due to the absorption of asbestos fibers once handling the material the doctors have reached the conclusion that these ones are digested and as such they get stuck in the peritoneum and with time lead to the form of cancer called peritoneal mesothelioma.

Another way that asbestos can reach the abdomen is through the lungs and lymph node the moment asbestos is inhaled. In some situations, pleural mesothelioma will lead to peritoneal mesothelioma and in case this one is not detected, the asbestos will start moving through the lungs and land in the cavity of the abdomen.

Whenever a person starts complaining of abdominal pains, then this can be an indication to lead to the signal of a peritoneal mesothelioma. Pains in stomach and chest and plenty of hernia cases are generated by peritoneal mesothelioma.

Most of the times the diagnose is not rightly put on peritoneal mesothelioma, and for this reason a lot of patients are prone to a shorter life expectancy.
